Description | Tenaska plans to build a natural gas-fueled power plant on a 562-acre parcel in Saline Township, Jefferson County. The plant will generate up to 1,700 megawatts of power, enough to power about 1.7 million homes, and create about 25 permanent jobs. The project also includes a regional carbon capture storage hub with 30 CO2 injection wells across a six-county area. The project is currently in the permitting stage, with construction expected to start in 2028 and the plant coming online in late 2032 or early 2033. |
