Description
Description | The Triangle for Ukrainian Artists is a collaboration between Ukraine, Poland and Sweden. It aims to support the Ukrainian theatre during times of war, sharing experiences and methods, learning from the new context of Ukrainian drama affected by the wartime experience and create structures for cooperation between artists in Europe. The project responds to the need for transnational creation and circulation. In order to ensure the ability of the free arts to reach national and international audiences, both physically and digitally and to quickly reactivate cultural life in Ukraine, stable networks between artists are particularly important. The challenge is to secure and support the country's cultural regeneration for long-term effects. These are our shared priorities: • Support Ukrainian artists, primarily playwrights, in the current war situation to build new structures for the post-war period so that they can quickly get back to work and be drivers for change. • Encourage and create space for the artists, for new artistic work (plays), innovative ideas for spreading the Ukrainian culture to audiences in Europe. Give them an international voice and establish new connections, human and professional, between the countries. • Exchange, documentation and analysis of our collective experience and methods will be summarized into a policy paper and shared broadly so that they can be used in other conflict zones and crises, to support freedom of speech and democratic movements. The Centre of Modern Ukraine Drama/Theatre of Playwrights (UKR), Kulturhuset Stadsteatern (SE), Rikstolvan (SE) and Villa Decius (PL) will provide residencies, new drama, translations, mentoring, festivals, networks and digital platforms. Through democratic, co-creative processes, we aim to disseminate concrete tools to contribute in short and long term to strengthening the conditions for independent contemporary culture and the future cultural heritage in our countries, Europe and beyond. |
