Description
Description | Triathlon Sports Volunteering (TSV) project, led by the Federação de Triatlo of Portugal, together with the Spanish Triathlon Federation, the Fédération Française de Triathlon, the Royale Marocaine de Triathlon and the Czech Triathlon Association, aims to transform volunteering in triathlon through a model based on three pillars: certified training, international mobility, and official recognition. Its approach positions volunteers as key players in event organization, equipping them with transferable skills and accreditations that enhance their personal and professional growth. TSV will facilitate youth participation through the European Solidarity Corps (ESC), integrating volunteers into a European network with official certifications. Organizations will receive ESC accreditation, strengthening transnational cooperation in sports volunteering. The project will offer a comprehensive training program, combining online courses, in-person workshops, and hands-on experiences at triathlon events, covering event management, safety, communication, sustainability, and inclusion. A TSV digital platform will be created to manage registrations, training, and certifications, promoting mobility through gamification tools and rewards. Its scalability will enable the model to be replicated in other sports and triathlon federations (beyond Erasmus Plus Sport funding), ensuring long-term impact. With World Triathlon’s support, TSV will contribute to inclusive and sustainable volunteering, aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and European values such as cooperation, equality, and participation. TSV aims to professionalize sports volunteering, establishing a replicable model that fosters integration, learning, and mobility in a transnational context. This professionalization is accompanied by greater recognition of its role and significance in sporting environments. |
