Description
Description | TSFF is the only film festival in Italy to focus exclusively on Central Eastern European cinema, offering the audience national and international premieres, as well as a wide programme of films, side events and activities dedicated to all age groups. TSFF’s audience development strategy focuses on engaging diverse international, cross-border and local audiences through curated programming, partnerships, and educational initiatives that promote cultural exchange, European arthouse cinema from medium and low capacity countries, young talents and European values. The request for support from the MEDIA programme of Creative Europe is therefore aimed at supporting the 37th and 38th editions. Over the last ten years, the festival has grown and expanded, reaffirming a strong international vocation that over the years has taken the form of dozens of partnerships with other film festivals, film archives, cultural institutes and film centres. The structure of the programme includes competitive sections (features, documentaries, short films, Italian independent films), focuses on European female filmmakers, tributes, retrospectives, special awards, sidebar events, educational and training programmes, and a series of satellite events that we organise with our European film festival network “MIOB-Moving Images Open Borders” and with other partners. We are the first Italian festival, apart from VeniceFF, which has organised a tour of a part of our festival programme in other Italian cities throughout the year (“TSFF in tour”). The festival is also a very important film industry centre at a European level, as it co-organises When East Meets West co-production forum, which brings together more than 600 industry professionals from more than 40 countries, with a particular attention on young talents and film projects from low capacity production countries. |
