The Upper Rhine is one of the most economically active regions in Europe and therefore has a high demand for skilled workers, especially in the technical field. This demand has increased again after the pandemic. It is expected that 50.000 specialists will be missing in the south of the Upper Rhine region in 2035 alone. Today, the majority of students start their careers in the respective home region. Even in this cross-border region, they rarely consider working in the neighbouring country. The TrinTEd project aims to raise students’ awareness of the professional opportunities in neighbouring countries and to provide them with new intercultural skills that can be used in a cross-border context. Especially in the context of meeting weekends, students divided into trinational groups will benefit from offers for technical education in various areas. The following topics will be addressed: Mechatronics, computer science, sustainable development and climate protection, artificial intelligence and interculturality. The students will present the results prepared during these weekends to their fellow students and representatives of companies in the three countries. At the end of the project, a total of 400 students should have been able to develop technical solutions within the framework of trinational teams. These students will be trained for future topics. Above all, you will also have acquired knowledge about corporate structures, technology transfer and copyright in the countries of the Upper Rhine region. Through the exchange with the business world, students will be even better able to plan a career in the neighbouring country.
