Türkiye-Algeria LNG Supply Contract Renewal and Expansion

Türkiye is planning to sign a new liquefied natural gas (LNG) agreement with Algeria to renew and potentially expand its existing long-term gas supply contract. The current contract expires in September 2027, and the new contract could increase LNG imports from 4.4 billion cubic metres annually to 6-6.5 bcm, with a contract duration of five to ten years. The project also includes plans for regasification of Algerian LNG at Turkish facilities and partial export to southeastern Europe, as well as joint hydrocarbon exploration initiatives in Algerian waters by Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO) and Algeria's Sonatrach.
