Description

Description

This is the Trolley Trail Jogging and Bike Path in Columbus. This project along with local SPLOST funded improvements to the west and Stimulus TEE funded project 0000099 will create a multi use path from downtown Columbus to Cooper Creek Park in northeast Columbus. Project 0007563 funds will be spent in the area from CSU campus to Cooper Creek Park, along with Project 000099 funds. The multi use path from CSU campus to Cooper Creek Park would be 12 foot in width and would be constructed primarily along the old Georgia Midland and Gulf Railroad bed. At the University Drive crossing the trail deviates to the south to accommodate a safer crossing at that location. The project would incorporate several infrastructure improvements such as parking areas, street lighting, benches, trash receptacles, signage and a park and ride facility near Reese Road and Manchester Expressway. This project is an excellent example of multiple public funding sources being used to achieve a project.
