Description

The Trump AI and Energy Initiative is a proposed $70 billion to $90 billion investment plan unveiled at the Pennsylvania Energy and Innovation Summit at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. The initiative aims to bolster power capacity for the region and support the expansion of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies and data center computing. It includes intersecting data center expansion needs with new and redeveloped energy resources such as natural gas, nuclear energy, and renewables. Key projects include redevelopment of a steel mill in Aliquippa into a high-density data center complex, investments by GE Vernova in power grid capacity products, and plans by Fermi America to develop a massive AI-data center complex in Texas powered by natural gas and advanced nuclear energy.
