Trump Tower Hotel and Luxury Residences Project in Belgrade

planned

A $500 million real estate project developed by Jared Kushner's Affinity Partners investment company to build a Trump Tower hotel and luxury residences in central Belgrade. The project involves demolishing the former Yugoslav Army general headquarters, a site previously protected as a cultural monument. A special law is being drafted to classify the project as of national importance, allowing the government to bypass normal procedures in public procurement, construction safety, and cultural heritage areas. The project has faced controversy and a criminal investigation regarding forged documentation related to the site's protection status.
