TSMC Arizona has begun construction on a planned 15-acre Industrial Reclamation Water Plant (IRWP) designed to achieve near zero liquid discharge by recycling nearly all water used. The plant will convert industrial wastewater to ultrapure water for semiconductor manufacturing, initially reaching an 85% recycling rate with plans to exceed 90%. The IRWP will support TSMC Arizona's first two fabs and is expected to be operational in 2028, with capacity expansion planned for future fabs.
