Tunisia - Competitiveness Support Programme I (PAC I)

The Competitivity Support Programme, which constitutes a stage in the realization of the objectives of the Tunisian Government’s IXth Plan, has been designed, in pursuance of the reforms, particularly those in the financial sector. The support programme will improve financing conditions for non-financial economic operators through more effective mobilization and allocation of resources in accordance with market criteria, within an institutional framework consolidated by application of a new set of prudential regulations. It falls within the continuation of the reforms, and thus benefits from the support of the traditional donors. The programme has five components, namely: (i) Restructuring/modernization of the banking system; (ii) Related reform of public and parastatal enterprises; (iii) Reactivation of the treasury securities market; (iv) Modernization of the financial management instruments; (v) Strengthening of the Insurance Companies and the OPCVMs.
