Description | This project involves the rehabilitation and expansion of the Tunisian national sanitation network and more specifically its wastewater treatment services in the country. The National Office of Sanitation of Tunisia (ONAS) has signed a 10 year concession in April 2023 with four companies - Suez, Segor, SCET Group and BIAT1 - the sponsors of this project. This initiative will benefit more than 950 thousand inhabitants of the Sfax, Gabes, Medenine and Tataouine governorates. Project works include the construction of 1.900 km of pipelines, 106 pumping stations and the modernization of 14 wastewater treatment plants. The total project cost is $220.6m (EUR 200m) and will be financed with a loan provided from the World Bank. The financial close date is June 6th, 2023.
