This measure is a project to promote employment for Syrian refugees in Turkey (Syrians under Temporary Protection - SuTP) and disadvantaged Turkish citizens in the host communities. The aim is to sustainably improve the livelihood of the target group, enable them to be self-sufficient and thus reduce their dependence on state transfer payments in the long term. The target group is supported in their integration into the formal labor market through vocationally qualifying, dual training programs in selected economic sectors as well as accompanying support and advisory services. During the training, the participants receive transfer payments from the project. This enables them to improve their livelihood and that of their families in the short term through a regular income. In addition, the aim is to take on the graduates, which should achieve a sustainable improvement in livelihood and reduce dependence on state transfer payments. The SI measure is complemented by activities to institutionally strengthen the Turkish vocational training sector, such as the creation of a curriculum and training for vocational school teachers (Training of Trainers - ToT) and the procurement of equipment and teaching materials for state vocational schools and public education centers. The project is implemented by the UN World Food Programme (WFP) as the direct recipient of funds and project executing agency.
