Description
Description | The aim of the project is to give particularly vulnerable children and young people who have previously had no access to the formal education system or other (informal) support offers access to high-quality non-formal education that is tailored to their individual needs. The majority of the children and young people supported should then be integrated into the formal school system or be able to better master their everyday situation based on the knowledge they have acquired. The project is part of the Middle East employment initiative as part of the special initiative for refugees and host countries. It is being implemented by the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in regions with a high proportion of unmet educational needs. The project is an elementary component of a comprehensive UNICEF program that gives predominantly Syrian refugees in Turkey access to inclusive and high-quality non-formal education. The activities build on the previous phases I - VII of the Syrian Support Worker Programme, in which Syrian Support Workers are assigned to various institutions such as the Ministry of National Education, Ministry of Youth and Sports, municipalities and civil society organisations and support refugee children and young people to improve their access to general learning and educational opportunities. |
