Turku University of Applied Sciences conducted a recycling project to find efficient, scalable methods for recovering automotive glass from end-of-life vehicles (ELVs) to meet new ELV Directive targets. The project involved testing controlled breakage with dedicated collection systems, improving PVB separation from laminated glass, and exploring automation and machine vision for dismantling vehicle components. The project was done in cooperation with Finnish companies to develop compliant and commercially viable recycling processes.
