Description

Description

The Turning Sun Solar Facility is a 100 megawatt solar power project located near Estevan, Saskatchewan. It is the largest grid-scale solar farm in the province, developed as a partnership between GSI Management Inc. and Ocean Man First Nation, with a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement with SaskPower. Construction started in April 2026, with mobilization beginning in March. The project covers four quarters of land and includes a substation tied into the SaskPower Grid via the new Tableland switchyard. The solar panels are designed to track the sun and can pivot to shed snow or orient vertically to minimize hail damage. The project is expected to be operational by December 2027, with a lifespan of 25 years.
