Twin for Green is a bilateral EU cooperation initiative built on a progressive successful cooperation during the last 3 years, between the citizens and municipalities of Slanic Moldova (Romania) and Gambassi Terme (Italy). The cooperation is based on the fact that the 2 municipalities and citizens are very similar in terms of specificity, demographics and natural heritage. Both municipalities in Italy and Romania share the same unvaluable resource of natural heritage. The general objective of the Twin for Green project is to deepen the transnational cooperation between the citizens and municipalities of Slanic Moldova (Romania) and Gambassi Terme (Italy) in the fields of Biodiversity and Sustainable growth, while deepening the citizens’ awareness about the EU initiatives in these two fields. Specific objectives: 1. Increase the level of awareness of the citizens of Slanic Moldova and Gambassi Terme regarding the EU policies impacting citizens in the fields of Biodiversity and Sustainable Growth, while stimulating correct information about concrete policies/actions of the European Union in the fields and tackle the current grass-root misinformation. 2. Develop a long-term twinning strategy for the municipalities of Slanic Moldova and Gambassi Terme, focused on EU cooperation in the key areas of biodiversity and sustainable growth. The target group of the project is constituted of 230 citizens, which will be progressively involved in a 4 stages implementation of the project. The project consists of 4 distinct events under WP1 (2 organized in Slanic-Moldova and 2 organized in Gambassi Terme), as follows: Working Package 1 – Twin for Green Event 1 - Workshop on Biodiversity and EU natural heritage Event 2 - Workshop on enhancing sustainable growth and tourism Event 3 - EU Hackathon on Biodiversity and sustainable growth Event 4 – Twin for Green strategy proposal
