The project objective is to strengthen the cross-border cooperation of all project participants with regard to the establishment of bilingual schools on both sides of the border. Bilingualism can be seen as a complement to the regular school schedule. The project focuses on primary schools (in the Czech Republic 1-5th grade), a total of 20 schools will participate (10 in Lower Bavaria, 5 in the Pilsen region and 5 in the South Bohemian region). Planned activities: 1) Project planning and project implementation Each of the project partners will have an organisation team, all organizational teams will meet regularly (alternatingly with individual project partners). Coordination is the responsibility of the Czech Leader Partner. 2) Teacher preparation for bilingual teaching and its testing (applies to the Czech partner) During the entire duration of the project, the teachers will be trained in such a way that they will be trained in the 3 rd. Year in practice are qualified for the bilingual and master the methodological foundations. The target group: the teachers of the schools involved in the Czech Republic. 3) Language lessons in the schools of the neighbouring country. The aim of this activity is to improve the language skills in each neighbouring country. Additional German lessons in all participating schools (2 hours per week) in the Czech Republic; Additional Czech lessons by honorary staff in Bavarian schools (2 hours per week). The target group: Students of the schools involved. 4) Cross-border networking of schools (project days, residency events). Organisation of project days at the schools, joint three-day residence camps for the students. The target group: Students and teachers of integrated schools. 5) Exchange of experiences, examples of good practice. Within this activity, in 1. Year of implementation of a three-day exchange of information and experience (visit) in the bilingual schools in Alsace-Lotringen, in which, in addition to the Orga team, 2 educators from all participating schools will participate (one of the educators will be the school director). Once a year, a two-day meeting of the Orga team is held with the teachers involved, where teachers can share their experiences and examples of good practice. During this meeting, a seminar with a topical topic will also be organised. The outcome of the activity will be material with recommendations for the introduction of bilingual teaching. The target group: Director and teacher of the schools involved, Orga team The expected added value for the programme area: Piloting bilingual basic schools outside as a complement to regular school systems in order to achieve alignment of school qualifications in the border area.
