"The project aims to add a renew the previous (2020-2023) capacity of two aircraft to the rescEU fleet. The project addresses the needs described in the EU call for proposals and the capacity follows the criteria set out in Annex I of the Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2019/570. This maintenance of the current rescEU fleet would solidify the operational capability, as well as the availability of rescEU assets, in northern Europe. Between 2020 and 2023, Sweden and MSB hosted one capacity (two aircraft) of the type AT 802F ""Fireboss"" within rescEU (proper). During 2023, Sweden and MSB hosted an additional identical capacity within rescEU transition. These assets have been deployed multiple times with good results. By maintaining the rescEU capacity in the form of two aircraft for the period May 1st to October 31st 2025, Sweden and MSB could continue upholding an operational aerial forest firefighting capacity benefitting the north of Europe, as well as the UCPM as a whole."
