Two light scooping aircraft in rescEU-transition 2025, hosted by Sweden

"The project aims to add a transition capacity of two aircaft to the rescEU fleet. The project addresses the needs described in the EU call for proposals and the capacity follows the criteria set out in Annex I of the Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2019/570. This addition to the current rescEU fleet would enhance operational capability, as well as the availability of rescEU assets, in northern Europe. Since 2020, renewed in 2024, Sweden and MSB hosts one capacity (two aircraft) of the type AT 802F ""Fireboss"" within rescEU (proper). During 2024, Sweden and MSB hosted an additional identical capacity within rescEU transition. These assets have been deployed multiple times with good results. By maintaining the rescEU transition capacity in the form of two aircraft for the period May 6th to September 20th 2025, Sweden and MSB could continue upholding an operational aerial forest firefighting capacity benefitting the north of Europe, as well as the UCPM as a whole."
