Two wastewater treatment plants in Zibo City

On July 18, 2011, a subsidiary of the Israel based company TAHAL Group (http://www.kwigwater.com/), Kwig Water Co., Ltd. formally signed an agreement with the Zibo Municipal Government to finance, build and operate two wastewater treatment plants in Zibo City, Shandong Province. One is the 2nd phase of the Huanke Wastewater Treatment Plant (25,000 cubic meters per day) and the other is Zichuan District Shuangyang Town Wastewater Treatment Plant (30,000 cubic meters per day). The total investment is RMB 94 million (or US$ 15 million). The concession period is 28 years. The 2nd phase of Huanke Plant is expected to commence at the beginning of 2012 and come into operation in October. According to a government internal document dated December 2011, US$ 3.1 million as 72% of the registered equity of the project company Zibo Kwig Water Co., Ltd was in place by June 2011. Several calls for bids regarding the two plants were released before the agreement was formally signed.
