Description
Description | Addition of new modules to the mobile application for the purpose of assessing and improving performance of bus network operators. 1. Two-way communication module allowing the customer to inform us in real time of any unusual situations on the network: driver, trip progress or condition of the rolling stock or fixed infrastructure of our network. The STL will be able to act quickly to address the problem and inform customers. To complete this task, the information collected will be sent to the Customer Relationship and Information Central System (SCIRC). The STL will also be able to identify surveys completed by users of a specific bus line or those in a particular area on the territory of the City of Laval. 2. Dynamic demand management module. Users will give us authorization to analyze their complete trips so that we will be able to provide them with alternatives based on the analysis made using historical data of traffic and timeliness via the SCIRC. This feature could help in better distribution of passenger load on board by saving on bus money and making it more comfortable for certain travellers. The overall usability of the existing STL mobile application must be re-examined to incorporate the new modules to the current features of the application, including viewing passage times in planned time and real time, pricing information, alerts and messages of interest, geolocation of buses, interactive map, etc. We will also be able to use real-time passenger meter data to inform users waiting at bus stops of expected passenger load on board when their bus arrives at the stop. |
