Description | Tarrant County College is selling the abandoned TXU power plant property along the Trinity River near downtown Fort Worth, located on the future Panther Island development. The plant sits on about 8 acres adjacent to the North Main Street bridge. The Panther Island project is a flood mitigation initiative involving digging another channel for the Trinity River and developing the newly formed island into a residential and commercial riverfront district connecting downtown, the Stockyards, and West 7th Street corridor. Construction on a stormwater canal system is expected to begin in 2026. |
