Description | Tyson Foods plans to acquire and retrofit the idled former Cargill turkey facility in Springdale, Arkansas, transforming it into a value-added poultry product plant. The project involves retrofitting, renovating, equipping, and making other improvements to the approximately 350,000 sq. ft. facility on Randall Wobbe Lane. The city council authorized the issuance of industrial development revenue bonds to support financing for the project, estimated at $127 million. The city will own the facility and lease it to Tyson, with the company exempt from property taxes but making annual payments to the county. The project is expected to create approximately 225 jobs in two phases and is scheduled for completion in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2028. |
