The project aims to be the continuation of the existing rescEU medical stockpile in Greece, developed last year. The new components to be developed in the framework of the stockpile will be the following: From the main category of intensive care medical equipment, we will include infusion pumps, from the main category of laboratory supplies we will include laboratory equipment and consumables, vaccine transport equipment- boxes, pods and from the main category of personal protective equipment we will include goggles. The aforementioned items have been selected based on the criteria below: - The majority of the items may be used to encounter a wide range of infectious disease scenarios - All the items will be user-friendly even in countries that are not familiar with their use - A massive effort has been made in order for the products to be purchased to be as eco-friendly and “green” as possible Greece’s strategic geographical position is of critical importance regarding the distribution of the items. The items will be stocked in the existing warehouse in the region of Attica from where the deployment may be made by road, air or sea based on each case. Our organization has developed the necessary knowledge, capacities and efficiency having already conducted eight deployments through rescEU medical stockpile and many more through the EUCPM. We deeply understand the necessity of further developing the preparedness and ability to response to new emerging cross-border disasters, and our goal through the expansion of the rescEU stockpiles is to contribute as much as possible in the achievement of our common mission.
