The Union of European Federalists (UEF) is a pan-European, non-partisan NGO that aims to bring together European citizens who desire to work for a federal Europe, act as a catalyst of democratic forces in Europe, and stimulate public debate and reflection on the political vision of the European project, its history and the values it represents. With 18 constituent member organisations and over 30.000 members from all 27 EU member states, UEF mobilises European citizens from all ages, professions and social backgrounds in the promotion of a stronger, more democratic, federal Union. UEF has been active at the local, regional, national and European level throughout the past 75 years. In 2022, UEF will especially focus on these actions: • Take a clear stand and contribute an own vision for the future of a value-based, democratic and sovereign Union to the debate on the future of Europe. Being a bridge between the local level and decision-makers in European capitals, UEF will work hard to ensure that citizens’ demands and the vision of UEF’s own members are put into practice by lobbying European and national-level decision-makers to tackle current challenges and deliver to citizens as they demand. • Activate citizens to make use of their political participation rights as citizens of the European Union and have their say on how they wish to make the EU fit for future challenges. UEF will further step-up its efforts to advocate for taking emergency measures to stop the further deterioration of democratic fabric in Europe. • Kick-start a 4-year focus on the deepening & enlarging of the UEF Network activities. Through the organisation of a series of network-focused initiatives, UEF wants to improve the quality and grow the number of their activities, and, in doing so, raise their appeal in the eyes of existing and prospective members, and grow the reach and impact of its overall activities.
