Description | The project entails the development of a 25 MW solar photovoltaic power project in Kamalpur, Surendranagar, Gujarat, India by Ujjawala Power Private Ltd ("Project Company"). The project company is a 100% subsidiary of Hindustan Clean Energy (alias Moser Baer India Ltd). The project received its industrial license in July, 2011. The electricity generated from the project activity would be supplied to the North-East-West-North East (NEWNE) grid. Ujjawala Power Private Ltd has signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) for a period of 25 years. The total project cost is estimated at USD $15.6 million (INR 1075 million). Financing comprises USD $ 14.2 million (INR 980 million) 10-year-5-month loan provided by Rural Electrification Corp and balance equity. Financial close occurred on 29 July 2015.
