The report shows record revenue for the industry in 2018, with sales of £13 billion, up by 18% from 2013. The UK was the largest producer of construction equipment in Europe in 2018, earning manufacturers around £13 billion in revenue. The sector's confidence is attributed to major infrastructure projects like High Speed 2 (HS2), Hinkley Point C, and Highways England's £15 billion five-year roads program (RP1). The government has committed to further infrastructure investment and aims to increase the housebuilding program by 30% to 300,000 new homes a year.
