Ukraine Crop Receipts Project

The Project will collaborate with private sector stakeholders to enable the crop receipt financial instrument in Ukraine, which will improve access to finance to small and medium agri-enterprises. This will happen thanks to the features of the instrument: persistence of obligations; quick contract enforcement; immunity to jurisdiction; creditor's rights to monitor the field; ability to serve as a price hedge; and transparency. The Project will be rolled out in two phases. During Phase I the Project will enable the instrument by achieving the following objectives: support necessary changes to the legal/regulatory framework; and support development of the crop receipts register. At Phase II the Project will support development of the crop receipts market and increase public awareness of the crop receipts financial instrument.
