Description	Kurum, a Turkish steelmaker, won the bid for the divestiture of the Ulez & Shkopet small hydropower plants, in Southern Albania. The plant consisted of 49.5MW: Ulet was 25.2MW, Shkopet was 24MW. The competitive bid based on highest price paid to the government was won with a bid of EUR 57.5 million (US$75.75 million). Initial tenders of the same projects had to be canceled 4 times due to lacking interest over worries of the monopoly position of KESH. Output is to be sold to KESH. EVN also showed interest in the tender, but it is unknown if they have submitted a bid. Total cost was US$75.8 million. The financial closure date was December 2012, date of finalizing the tender.
