CLAVIUS is a technology transfer project, based on an ultra-fast pixel sensor developed in an international project coordinated by the University of Insubria. The consortium proposing, balanced and complementary skills and location, directs the development of tools for solar and astronomical observatories, as well as devices for diagnostic and safety in particle accelerators for industrial use for the production of radioisotopes. The potential 'of the project's success is based not only on the proven competence of patner science, even and especially on cross-border presence in the territory of two companies well positioned in the field (Fraen Optical and Mechanical Workshops Insubrica) and two research centers (IRSOL and the European Commission's Joint Research Centre in Ispra) at which to effect the qualification of prototypes.
