Underground Fiber Buildout by Talkie Communications

planned

The borough is coordinating with Talkie Communications to build out underground fiber service into neighborhoods using an existing trunk line under the Heritage Rail Trail. The project aims to expand broadband options, increase competition, and provide faster, more reliable internet service, especially targeting underserved areas. The buildout will use existing street rights-of-way and will require street-cut permits and financial security bonds to ensure completion and cover potential damages. The buildout timeline could span about two years depending on permitting and development priorities.
