Description
Description | Palestinian society is suffering from long-lasting, complex crises. These include the Middle East conflict, territorial fragmentation, severe restrictions on the movement of people and goods due to the Israeli occupation and the blockade of the Gaza Strip, increasing settlement construction in the West Bank, and internal political division. Women are particularly affected by these crises in almost all social, political and economic aspects. The aim of the project is to strengthen the resilience of vulnerable Palestinian communities with a particular focus on the promotion of women and gender equality. This includes improving social infrastructure, strengthening socio-economic services with a specific focus on the needs of women and girls, income generation and empowerment of women, and gender mainstreaming at the community level. The target regions are vulnerable communities in the Gaza Strip, East Jerusalem, and Area C of the West Bank. The project measures include the rehabilitation of social infrastructure, the strengthening of social services, empowerment and gender mainstreaming to strengthen the role of women and promote gender equality in line with the BMZ's strategy for a feminist development policy. Output 1 Improved capacities for gender-specific social services. Output 2 Empowerment and improved opportunities for the economic participation of women. Output 3 Participatory measures and gender mainstreaming to promote social cohesion and inclusion in the communities. The planned duration is from December 2023 to November 2026. |
