UNICEF Iraq-Mosul: Education, child protection and winter resilience

The aim of the project is to ensure access to education and to provide psychosocial care for children of internally displaced persons, as well as to provide them with winter clothing and blankets. The target group are the children of Iraqi internally displaced persons from the Mosul region who have had to flee the fighting to liberate the Iraqi areas controlled by IS. In total, the project will benefit up to 280,000 children. The implementation period is 13 months (beginning December 2016). The individual measures are based on the contents of the Iraq Regional, Refugee & Resilience Plan (3RP) and the Iraq Humanitarian Response Plan (HRP). The German side is providing a financial contribution of up to EUR 19.0 million to UNICEF.
