Description

Description

The planned KWI funding serves to continue German support for the UNICEF No Lost Generation Initiative and the UNICEF education program in Jordan. The aim of the KWI project is to improve access to education and child protection measures for children and young people in need. The contribution of EUR 13.5 million is intended to ensure the full financing of up to 32 selected Makani centers, including all services offered there, for a period of at least 12 months (component 1). In addition, specific child protection and psychosocial treatment measures for children living in the catchment areas of the financed Makanis and who have been identified as requiring treatment are to be financed over a period of 36 months (component 2). The target group includes up to 28,000 needy children and young people living in Jordan, regardless of their nationality. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the term for component 2 of the project was extended at no cost until December 2022.
