Description

Description

The project aimed at directly improving the living conditions of Syrian refugees and the local population particularly affected by the crisis and included two components (1) improving the drinking water supply and (2) improving access to non-formal education and child protection services (project objective). To this end, the German side provided a financial contribution of EUR 10 million to UNICEF. The target group included up to 100,000 Syrian refugees in the north-eastern border region with Syria (component 1) and around 50,000 needy children and young people in refugee camps and communities (component 2). The implementation period was 24 months (August 2016 to July 2018). The individual measures were based on the relevant sector chapters of the Jordan Response Plan and the Jordan part of the 3RP and are specifically included in the Interagency Plan for the Berm and UNICEF's No Lost Generation Strategy.
