Description
Description | The project serves to continue UNICEF's support in the areas of vocational training and employment promotion measures in Lebanon. The current third phase is intended to further improve access to training and qualification opportunities for Lebanese, Syrian and Palestinian young people and adolescents in order to facilitate the transition from training to entry into the job market, create employment and income opportunities and thus improve the life prospects of the target group. The financial contribution of EUR 10 million provided is intended to supplement the ongoing support in the first two phases with access to training courses in state vocational schools, training to impart start-up and innovation-oriented skills and competences, and the provision of start-up financing for young founders. The project is to be implemented nationwide; the target group includes up to 9,330 young people and adolescents in communities with a particularly high proportion of refugees and needy Lebanese. The project will run for 16 months, starting in January 2017. UNICEF Lebanon will be responsible for implementation, planning the activities, advertising them and monitoring their implementation. The measures are part of UNICEF's No Lost Generation strategy and the Lebanese government's Reaching all Children with Education (RACE) strategy. |
