Description

Description

For more than twelve years, the situation for children and young people in the Syrian conflict has been precarious and the country's humanitarian and social challenges remain very great. In addition, an earthquake disaster occurred in the north of the country in February 2023, the consequences of which are considerable for vulnerable people who are already affected by violence and internal displacement. With more than 15 million people in need, including 7 million children, the ongoing support of the donor community is essential, particularly in the regions affected by the earthquake in the northwest of the country. The aim of the KWI/ÜH funding is to strengthen the resilience of vulnerable children and young people through improved access to school infrastructure, child protection measures and non-formal education as well as further training opportunities for adolescents, including in the areas affected by the earthquake.
