Description

USL club Union Omaha reached an agreement with the city of Omaha to develop a soccer stadium-anchored mixed-use development for the men’s team and a future women’s team. The stadium, designed by HOK and owned by the city, has an estimated cost of $114 million (excluding additional infrastructure costs). Hines is overseeing the development of the 20-acre, roughly $400 million district with the club. JLL’s sports practice and RDG Planning & Design are also contributing to the effort. The project requires Omaha city council review and approval of a land purchase with Union Pacific and an application for turnback tax funding. It will likely need direct city financing. The club hopes to break ground in 2026 with a planned opening in 2028.
