Union Station - Security Analysis

The Government of Canada, Metrolinx and City of Toronto security staff have requested that the City review what security features need to be installed at Union Station as the building is high risk as a transportation hub. The security features are intended to be in front of the plaza area and to protect the building from a hostile vehicle attack, or any other threat to the area and the users of the Station. A security analysis will be done of the precinct (precinct includes Front St to the north, Bay St to the east, Lakeshore Blvd to the south, and York St to the west), and will be done in consultation with area stakeholders. This will require retaining a firm with the expertise and experience in security analysis. This funding will be for a consultant to undertake the analysis, and provide a detailed design for the precinct.
