Description

Description

The EULAS network, which stands for 'United in Knowledge: EU-Latin America Academic Synergies', brings together 25 prestigious higher education institutions from the EU (10), Latin America (14) and the Caribbean (1). Our network aims to promote dialogue and understanding between the EU and LAC regions. At the heart of the EULAS consortium is a commitment to academic excellence and inclusivity, reflected in our selection criteria, which emphasize gender equality and geographical diversity. This approach enriches the discourse with fresh perspectives from LAC, particularly regarding gender. The network recognizes the critical need to strengthen the EU's external effectiveness and legitimacy, especially in challenging times. One of our main objectives is to generate and disseminate innovative knowledge on the interplay between EU foreign policy and LAC affairs. This aligns with the overall objective of the Erasmus+ programme: to promote educational, vocational, and personal development through lifelong learning. Our approach involves an innovative network structure consisting of seven interlinked and mutually reinforcing work packages. Guided by expert management and coordination, we focus on four thematic areas: Trade, Investment, Finance and Sustainable Development (WP2); Climate, Biodiversity, and Sustainable Development Goals (WP3); Populism, Liberal Democracy, and Human Rights (WP4); and Health, Social, and Cultural Cooperation (WP5). We use a three-tiered collection process to gather cutting-edge scholarship. This material undergoes a rigorous review process, which will be used to produce expert surveys and reflection papers. A highlight will be 4 three-day network conferences in key countries such as Argentina, Brazil, Ecuador, and Chile. These events include special sessions on educational training, developing a MOOC and textbook. Our dissemination strategy will be based on a website, social media, blog, e-newsletter, databases, webinars, podcasts, and videos.
