The University of Minnesota is conducting agrivoltaics research at the West Central Research and Outreach Center in Morris, Minnesota. The project involves grazing livestock, such as dairy cows, alongside and under elevated solar panels to explore dual use of land for food production and solar energy generation. The research aims to reduce heat stress in cows, grow nutritious forage under solar panels, and integrate solar energy with agricultural practices.
