The PATHFINDER project addresses youth unemployment in the EU by fostering a critical dialogue on the dual nature of artificial intelligence (AI) as both a challenge and an opportunity. By organising debates, workshops, and youth knowledge exchanges, the project will explore whether AI is a curse or a blessing for young people while advocating for policies that bridge education gaps and prepare youth for the future of work. The project will empower young people to engage with AI-related issues and actively influence EU policy agendas through exposure to AI ecosystems, targeted training programs, and policy advocacy. Recognizing the transformative impact of AI technologies on the job market, the project encourages European youth, especially those facing the danger of unemployment, to debate whether AI represents a crisis or an opportunity for their future while fostering a policy shift in the EU. By creating events and spaces for youth, educators, tech industry leaders, and policymakers to exchange ideas and solutions, the project will advocate for education and vocational training reforms that prioritise youth-focused AI policies in Europe. Facilitating youth exchanges among the project countries will enable the sharing of experiences and perspectives among European youth, industry leaders, and policymakers, will promote their robust participation and discussions, ensuring their voices are heard and play a vital role in shaping EU policies and priorities, particularly in addressing youth employment and educational inequalities. By fostering meaningful dialogue between young citizens and policymakers, the project will empower young people to engage confidently in discussions on relevant EU policies and priorities.
