Description
Description | The 302-km Unnao-Lucknow access-controlled expressway, cuts travel time between Agra and Lucknow from 6 hours to just 3.5 hours. We constructed one package of 63 km in 22 months though the original contracted schedule was for 36 months. The unique aspect of this expressway is a 3.2 km stretch that can double up as a runway for the IAF during emergency situations. To highlight this unique feature, the expressway was inaugurated to the reverberations of 6 IAF fighter jets (Sukhois & Mirages) landing on the stretch. In fact, a few days later a transport plane - AN 32 landed and took off from the stretch marking the first time a transport plane has landed and taken off from an Indian road. |
