Description | Uno Minda Limited's Board of Directors approved the establishment of a greenfield manufacturing facility in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (formerly Aurangabad), Maharashtra, through its subsidiary Uno Minda Auto Innovations Private Limited (UMA IPL). The facility will focus on high-voltage electric powertrain products for four-wheeler passenger vehicles, including Electric Drive Units (EDU) and Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT) systems. The investment is ₹550 Crore, funded through a mix of debt and equity, with capital expenditure phased over two years and commissioning expected by Q2 FY28. This is the second EV powertrain plant by UMA IPL, following the ongoing setup of a plant in Khed City, Pune, expected to begin operations in H2 FY27. |
