Description

Description

The objective of this ÜH project is to strengthen the resilience of the population affected by displacement by rehabilitating basic municipal infrastructure, repairing housing and improving access to public services. In the third phase of this ÜH project, the corresponding measures will be implemented in rural and peri-urban regions of Anbar Province, but mainly in the Sinjar district of Ninewa Province. The most important aid measures focus on the renovation/new construction of damaged housing (at least 260 housing units) in damage category III/IV and on the renovation of municipal water supply systems (10 units). Where possible, technical options for generating renewable energy will be used (e.g. VP). In addition, local administrative staff, members of the target communities, village elders or members of local NGOs will be taught important skills for the repair and maintenance of the technology and systems provided (e.g. photovoltaic systems, water supply systems). In addition, the population of the target communities will be sensitized to relevant aspects of environmental protection and sustainability. The project is planned for 4 years (48 months), with the last year being the warranty phase for the renovated infrastructure. The total volume of this third phase amounts to 15 million euros.
