Description

Description

The civil war in Syria, which has been going on since 2012, has caused massive refugee movements to neighboring countries. The aim of the FC measure is to strengthen the resilience of Palestinian refugees and to maintain their access to basic services (education and health). This will contribute to stabilizing the countries neighboring the Syrian crisis and reduce the impact on the refugees. Teachers and health personnel from UNRWA (United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East) in Lebanon, as well as teachers from UNRWA in Jordan, will be financed. This will give Palestinian refugees from Syria and Palestinian refugees (1) access to school education in UNRWA-run schools in Lebanon and Jordan and (2) access to basic medical care in UNRWA health centers in Lebanon. It helps to reduce the potential for conflict that arises due to the sometimes very poor population and the very high pressure on resources and services within the camps and for the refugees living there. This contributes to stability in the refugee camps.
