Information Oil India has come up with Up gradation for Enhancement of Pumping Capacity of Barauni-Bongaigaon-Guwahati sector of NBPS [UGPS- Phase II] with a ticket size of 530 INR Crores. This project in Bulk Material Transportation Pipelines sub-sector involves The current status of the project is Completion Certificate/COD and is being developed through the EPC route. Economic/Social Impact of the Project Naharkatiya-Barauni Crude Oil Pipeline [NBPL] of Oil India Limited [OIL] passing through three states namely Assam, West Bengal & Bihar and pumping crude oil through ten pumping stations spread over 1157 Km long pipeline and supplying crude oil to Digboi,Numaligarh, Guwahati &Bongaigaon Refineries in the Eastern region of India.As part of Phase-II project, OIL intends to augment the capacity of the pipeline up to maximum possible throughput by upgrading pumping stations, taking PS-7 & PS-9 inline to satisfy the demand of the Bongaingaon refinery as well as Guwahati refinery. For transporting imported crude up to Guwahati refinery facilities at PS-6, PS-5 and at Guwahati refinery shall be upgraded with reverse pumping facility from PS-6 to PS-5. Also a new 10? dia. pipeline of about 3.5 km from PS-5 to Guwahati Refinery shall be laid as part of the current project.
