Description

Description

The project addresses works for the upgrade of 5.776 km of double-track railway line in the section Čelákovice – Mstětice located on the railway line No. 231 Lysá nad Labem – Praha-Vysočany between km 8.770 and km 14.546. It is located on the pre-identified section Praha-Brno of the Orient/East-Med and Rhine-Danube Core Network Corridors. It addresses a missing link (Praha-Brno) listed in Part III of the Annex of the CEF Regulation 2021/1153. The project is part of the Global Project covering the upgrade of the railway corridor Praha – Brno. Due to its inadequate technical parameters and deteriorated condition, the railway line in the section Čelákovice – Mstětice represents a bottleneck on the Czech railway network and the Orient/East-Med and Rhine Danube Core Network Corridors. Interventions for upgrading the the railway line to TEN-T core network requirements are therefore necessary. The overall objectives of the project are to: - increase the maximum speed from the current maximum speed of 100 km/h to 160 km/h (following future ETCS deployment (outside the scope of the CEF project) on the Praha-Vysočany – Lysá nad Labem railway line), - reduce travel time, - ensure the required interoperability and technical parameters (22.5 t axle load, D4 line load class and UIC GC spatial clearance, possibility of running trains with a length of 740 m), - ensure accessibility of railway transport for persons with reduced mobility, - enhance safety of passengers. To deliver the overall objectives, the project covers mainly the upgrade of the double-track railway line, (re)construction of four railway bridges, construction of four road bridges, reconstruction of the Mstětice railway station infrastructure, removal of two railway crossings, installation of new interlocking and signalling equipment, catenary and technology.
