Description
Description | The project addresses the upgrade of the railway infrastructure components of the Praha-Smichov railway station between Praha hlavni nadrazi Praha Smichov station and Praha Smichov Praha Radotin station of a total lengtth of 2.13 km.. The project is located on the Rhine – Danube Core Network Corridor and i. It belongs to the cross-border link München – Praha defined under part III of the Annex to Regulation 2021/1153. The station is located in the built-up area of the Capital City Praha with more than 1.2 million inhabitants and is impacted by heavy passenger traffic, both subsuburban (Beroun, Rudná) and longdistance from Praha to Plzeň Region and on to Germany The project covers mainly the upgrade of the railway substructures and superstructure, platforms, bridges, signalling and catenary. The project is divided into two work packages, comprising construction works and support activities. The objectives of the project are: • increase the line speed • to ensure the required interoperability and technical parameters (i.e. 22.5 t axle load, D4 line load class and UIC GC spatial clearance, possibility of running trains with a length of 740 m) • to enhance safety of railway transport and passengers • to ensure accessibility of railway transport for persons with reduced mobility The implementation of the project will result in increased capacity of the railway line. This will lead to increased transport volumes, thus generating positive socio-economic benefits for the region and the Member State. |
